He attempts to raise the girl on his own, but by the time she is seven years old, it is obvious that her IQ is higher than his. so, a social worker decides to that its best for the little girl to move to a foster home. But, Sam is just not ready to let go of his little girl...

Verdict: the movie tends to over-simplify a very complex issue. Indeed, it is a movie, because real life situations never would unfold like that.
