Deogratias Harorimana, the Director General of Rwanda Institute of Administration and Management (RIAM), a government’s training body has been released granted bail.
A source from RIAM told The NewTimes that Harorimana was granted bail on November, 30.

Prosecution Spokesperson, Augustin Nkusi confirmed Harorimana’s temporary release when contacted yesterday on phone.

"We are looking at the evidence against him and see whether we can proceed to court. We don’t have any problem about his temporary release because the case against him does not deny him bail,” Nkusi explained yesterday evening.

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested Harorimana last month, after being suspected of flouting public procurement procedures.

Harorimana was appointed early this year, replacing Marc Kabandana, who was arrested in 2009 for embezzling public funds and acting contrary to laws that govern tendering procedures.

Kabandana and other former managers at the institute, is still on remand at Kigali Central Prison and their case is ongoing.
