Senior Police officers will meet for a two-day retreat to examine the force’s performance and address the challenges the institution is facing.

The retreat, taking place in Gashora, Bugesera will start with Police boss, Emmanuel Gasana, discussing on the vision, mission and core values of the force. 

‘Reengineering,’ is according to Gasana, the word that summarizes the essence the retreat.

Individual Commissions, Regional Police Units (RPUs) and Directorates are expected to come up with performance strategies for their specific department.

A police Council meeting has been scheduled for Monday to discuss resolutions from the retreat.

The Police Council is the highest organ of the force, through which major Police decisions are adopted.
