RWAMAGANA - Livestock farmers in Rwamagana and Kayonza districts have appealed to authorities to help them get milk processing equipment.

Modesta Zibera, one of the cattle farmers, complained about the tedious traditional methods of processing milk.
"We are still in the ancient times. We cannot enjoy the benefits of making milk products with the kind of processing methods we use,” Zibera said.

"Imagine spending hours to process 15 liters of milk to make 1 kg of butter.”

Richard Kayinamura, a retired teacher, and rural farmer said that modern processing equipment would ensure hygienic handling of their products.
