Friendly match (Saturday)

APR vs Bunamwaya FC

IN a bid to keep players match fit, APR have arranged a friendly match against Uganda Super league champions Bunamwaya this Saturday at Amahoro stadium.

With the league in recess because of the national team’s participation in the on-going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup, the army side’s Secretary General Adolphe Kalisa reckons that the match is a good test for the players.

"Most of the first team players are in Sudan for Cecafa so it is a good opportunity for the string players to show their potential,” he said.

APR has nine players in the Amavubi squad that is chasing for a second Challenge Cup title and they include Jean Luc Ndayishimiye a.k.a Bakame, Haruna Niyonzima, Didier Kapet, Eric Gasana, Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza a.k.a Migi, Albert Ngabo, Jean Claude Iranzi, Emmanuel Sebanani, and Kipson Atuheire.

Bunamwaya is owned by FUFA President Lawrence Mulindwa and is one of the biggest clubs in Uganda. It is currently 3rd on the Uganda super league log.

To date, APR is the most successful local club with 11 league titles.
