Kenya Defence College team to visit

A team of 16 faculty members and students from the Kenya National Defence College, headed by Maj. Gen. Antony M Rob, will undertake a study tour in Rwanda next week from December 5 to 12. The team is scheduled to visit various ministries and institutions where they will be briefed on several policy and strategic issues.

A team of 16 faculty members and students from the Kenya National Defence College, headed by Maj. Gen. Antony M Rob, will undertake a study tour in Rwanda next week from December 5 to 12.

The team is scheduled to visit various ministries and institutions where they will be briefed on several policy and strategic issues.

"The aim of the study tour is to examine, at first hand and from a strategic perspective, the prevailing situation and future prospects for the preservation and enhancement of the stability, security and prosperity of the region in general, and in particular the country being visited,” RDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Jill Rutaremara said in a statement.

The team will be received by various officials from the Ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Trade as well as the Ministry of Agriculture.

They will also visit some Defence projects, military training institutions, agro-processing factories and manufacturing firms; cultural/tourism sites and energy projects.

The National Defence College, Kenya, is a Regional Centre of Excellence vested with the mission of preparing Senior Military Officers and equivalent Kenyan senior civil servants and their counterparts from selected friendly countries for higher responsibilities in the strategic direction and management of security and other related areas of public policy.

The members of the team are from eight African countries.
