I would like to thank FAWE (Forum for Women Educationalists) for the great work of educating the girl child in this country, when you educate a girl, you educate a Nation.

Many disadvantaged girls are now going to school instead of staying at home to do house chores. There is no doubt that this is a result of continued advocacy by organizations like FAWE.

Women need to be given the same opportunity as men and gone are the days when the latter would get preferential treatment.

The Government, of course, must be commended for putting in place policies that foster gender equality.
