RUSIZI-The Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) over the weekend, planted 400 trees in Rwimbogo sector, Rusizi district, as part of its social corporate responsibility.

According to Felix Rukamirwa, the KCB Rusizi branch manager, the exercise was in response to a request by sector authorities- who had reported lack of man-power to plant trees on almost an acre of land.

"KCB doesn’t only aim at making profits, but we also aim at building Rwanda through supporting government programmes,” said Rukamirwa.

He promised continuous unconditional support to Rusizi.

Residents promised to take good care of the trees.

"Since KCB is in the middle of town, we shall make sure that we keep monitoring this forest until it matures. We take this as a big token from KCB,” said Fidele Habyarimana, a resident.

Some of the activities that KCB-Rusizi branch has done in the past include donations to schools, hospitals and the needy.
