Every once in a while, we see a true star come into the spotlight; the November 28, edition of The Sunday magazine showcases Rwanda’s rising star, Ally Soudy Uwizeye, on the cover.
The name Ally Soudy is familiar to even an ordinary Rwandan, who knows little about the local entertainment industry.
He is a renowned MC, radio presenter and an entertainer, famous for his shows: "Celebrity & Lifestyle” and "Rwanda Star on DVD” on RTV.
Ally Soudy is also celebrated for his charming personality, great sense of humor and music talent. His hits, including "Lea” are exploding everywhere in the country and has done collaboration with the country’s famous artists, including, Tom Close.
He is a light that shines in the country’s budding entertainment industry. With all the talk lately about Soudy, the songwriter reminds us that we should all unite and take personal responsibility for the destiny of our great country.
The star opens up about his rise from the radio sensation to pop star and admits that having such a busy schedule hasn’t been good for his social life: "Right now, it’s difficult ‘cause I’m working on various projects that will make a big impact on our showbiz,” Ally Soudy says.
In a candid and revealing interview, this charming young man, Soudy, talks about his history, the meaning behind some of his fame-charged factors, and why he wants to make it to the top with every bone in his body.
The 27-year-old star joined the music industry in 2005, through "Testament”, a music group at the National University of Rwanda, composed of three students: DJ SG, Miggi and Ally Soudy.
However, it was not until 2007 when Ally Soudy shot to fame, after joining the university’s famous radio station ‘Radio Salux.’
"After joining the radio, I introduced a talk show which was about the lifestyles of the local and foreign celebrities and the program gained fame countrywide,” he says.
According to Soudy, entertainment is the universal language. It triggers powerful emotions and its healing properties are well-documented.
The singer also gushed about his music inspiration, saying that he enjoys singing and does it as a passion.
The star not only graces the cover, he is seen giving fashion tips to the readers of The Sunday magazine, who are passionate about fashion.
He says, "I love casual wear, and I would pay any amount of money on trendy designer fitting jeans and shirts.”
Ally Soudy enjoys watching movies (true action) and listening to music, whenever he is free. His favourite dish is rice and beans.
