A prison is a place in which criminals are physically confined and, usually, deprived of a range of personal freedoms. Prisons aren’t supposed to be fun, easy to live in; or full of nice people waiting to become your friends.

When criminals from all parts of the country gather into one facility, it’s a recipe for disaster, this make prison guarding a very hard job, though some prisoners may choose the path of rehabilitation, others sink deep into more crimes like killing their fellow inmates or guard, Below we bring you a list of world extraordinary prisons.
Securest prison
Super Maximum Security (USA) is the securest prison in the world; it was opened in 1994, and is home to only the most violent and dangerous criminals in the country. Those pesky prisoners have absolutely no contact with each other at any time and spend 22 hours per day in solitary confinement leaving plenty of time to consider what to have as their last meal. A lot of convicts, who enter this prison understandably, lose their mind sooner than later unless they own a sentence of 25years.
San Pedro
Convicts at san Pedro in Bolivia, have to pay rent for a cell and they all have jobs within the prison. A large number have partners and children staying with them and tourists are allowed to enter the prison but must be accompanied by a tour guide (a prisoner) for safety reasons. Tourists can even stay the night in a cell for a small fee and a large number of them frequent the jail in order to buy cocaine from inmates as it’s apparently the purest and cheapest in Bolivia. It’s also been suggested that local police only enter the facility to collect bribes.
World’s most overcrowded prison
Russia’s prisons have a reputation for being the most overcrowded on earth. Kresty prison in St. Petersburg serves as an example, with an official capacity of 3,000 today it houses a population of at least 10,000 inmates.
Hilton prison
Bank Kwang, ironically known as "Bangkok Hilton”, is an understaffed, over populated prison in Thailand, packed to the rafters with inmates struggling with physiological issues. The first three months of any prisoners stay is spent with their legs chained in iron. Traditional Thai culture doesn’t believe in comfortable living for their prison inhabitants.
World’s smallest prison
On a little island called Sark in Guernsey is also a little prison which accommodates only two people. This prison is so small that it’s reportedly the smallest prison in the world. The longest that felons are allowed to stay there is overnight. For crimes that are more serious, the island’s felons are transported to a "big boy” jail cell where there’s more space and possibly tougher bars. Despite its size, Sark prison continues to be in use, and the sign on top of the door says it’s been there since 1856.
Austria’s 5-star prison
There has been an influx of burglary cases in Austria, and it’s probably because of the Justizzentrum. This is a 5-star prison which really looks more like a hotel than a prison. If you want to stay in a hotel for free in Austria, perhaps you should just get involved in a petty crime like burglary, and you’ll be earning yourself a few days’ stay there without being penalized so much.
