Dear Editor,

I was not in any way amused when I read a story in The Sunday Times dated February 03 about a 30 year old economics teacher at Alliance High School in Gasabo District who was sacked for allegedly having had a love affair with his senior five student.

It is rather degrading for a teacher to stoop too low engage in an affair with his students. One thing for sure is that the students will never have the respect for such a sexual monster.

However, students are often taken advantaged of because their vulnerability and availability.

Therefore, I advice the Ministry of Education to come up with counseling and guidance programmmes to help students and teachers deal with the issue of cross generational sex in schools.
