Editor,
There is need for Rwanda’s National Television (RTV) to make changes in its programmes. For instance it’s unprofessional for a programme producer to run adverts for over ten minutes. It’s as if they are telling people to switch to other stations instead of staying glued to the station.
Adverts are supposed to be short, exciting and aired between programmes. It is so irritating when the word ‘Kwamamaza’ literally meaning ‘adverts’ hits the screen every time an advert is about to be aired. Every time the advert (kwamamaza) slot shows up on my screen, I walk away for about 10 minutes to pick something from the kitchen.
It is just so wrong to inform viewers that they are about to see an advert! This only kills the beauty of advertisement, which is meant to be attractive and informative at the same time.
