MTN Rwanda has distributed 26 motorcycles to its distributors and franchisees across the country through a soft loan deal as the mobile operator seeks to expand its outreach.

"These are our partners, we facilitate them with tools of trade,” Andrew Rugege, MTN’s Chief Operations Officer said, yesterday, during a ceremony to distribute the motorcycles at MTN Centre in Nyarutarama.

The COO said that the motorcycles are interest free loans and each is above one million payable within a maximum period of one year.

"The project is ongoing and it depends on the need of distributors. It’s a win-win situation for both parties when they make profits, we know we have good business as well,” said Rugege.

Rugege said that MTN has so far distributed over 80 motor cycles since this year.

Mukakalisa Leonila one of the beneficiaries and the representative of seven distributors and franchisees in Muhanga district said that the move will make it possible for them to distribute airtime and mobile phones effectively.

"These motor cycles will help us reach to the furthest places with MTN products and in return it will positively impact our lives because the more you sale the more you earn,” she said.
