More than 15 budding local musicians and performers, on Wednesday evening, came out with vigor in display of their talents in an event held at St. Paul, in Kigali town.

The Talent Show was organised by the Peace and Love Proclaimers, a local organization which supports orphans and widows, especially the survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

"We’ve organised the event with a sole purpose of mobilizing funds in aid of the orphans in Nibore Peace Village, who are in need of our help in terms of food, funds and clothing,” said Joel Byiringiro, a member of the organisation. 

The talents varied from music to amazing display of great abilities.

A 57-year-old, Abdallah Temarige, from Biryogo, was able to lift a jerrican of 60 liters of water with his teeth, a show that send the audience roaring.

"I started doing this at the age of 20, and usually I’m hired to perform,” Temarige said.

He, however, added that he was honoured to partake in the charity concert.  The contestants performed and the judges ranked them according to their abilities and at the end of the show each received a price based on their performance.

Mike Mucyo, 19, an upcoming artist from Remera, thrilled the crowd with his electrifying rendition and also sampled the crowd with Michael Jackson’s ‘moon walk’ dance moves.
The evening was successful; thanks to Peace and Love Proclaimers for considering the needy.
