Kayrawene vs Junior Wasps (Tunis)

RICHARD Tardy’s youngsters are looking to build on Sunday’s 1-0 win over US Monastir U-18 side when they play another Tunisian youth side Kayrawene this afternoon.

After a goalless draw against US Monastir in the first trial match, the youngsters ended their goal drought with a hard fought 1-0 win on Sunday thanks to Nicole Mahoro’s strike.

The national U-17 side, which is on a three-week training camp in Tunisia, is using the matches as a build up to January’s Caf U-17 championship which will be jointly held in Kigali and Rubavu.

The identity of seven of the eight teams in contention is already known.

Besides Rwanda who qualified as hosts and Egypt who secured their ticket following Mauritius withdraw, reigning champions Gambia, Gabon, Mali, Ivory Coast and Senegal sealed their qualification over the weekend.

The eighth and final slot will be determined this Friday when Burkina Faso tries to overturn a 1-0 first leg defeat against the Reunion Island.
