Kicukiro District forms partnership with French Municipality

Kicukiro District in Kigali City has entered into a partnership with the municipality of Saint-Ouen in France, according to a press release from the Rwandan embassy in Paris. According to the release, the partnership   envisages cooperation in the areas of culture, education and technology, both at the public and civil society levels.

Kicukiro District in Kigali City has entered into a partnership with the municipality of Saint-Ouen in France, according to a press release from the Rwandan embassy in Paris.

According to the release, the partnership   envisages cooperation in the areas of culture, education and technology, both at the public and civil society levels.

This new development comes less than one year after the restoration of relations between Rwanda and France.
The partnership is in line with the goals of decentralization, sustainability and mutual benefit with the needs of the people at the centre of each project, according to the press statement.

Kicukiro is represented by the Mayor Jules Ndamage, Vice Mayor Florence Kayirabwa and Verra Mukeshimana representing civil society, while Saint Ouen is represented by its mayor, the General Counsel and staff in charge of international relations.

The statement further says the partnership is "a political and solidarity act.”

In September, Karongi district also established a partnership with Dieulefit municipality in France.
