Dear Editor,

The dream of every student is to perform well and ultimately get themselves a good job after studies. And several organisations including government institutions usually advertise jobs in the media. However, it is sad if the allegation is true that some organizations advertise jobs that do not even exist merely to popularise themselves.

What hurts most is that some job advertisers even deceive applicants saying, "If we do not contact you, then know that your application was not successful or only short listed candidates shall be contacted".

Does this mean that those who are never contacted are less competent? Most likely not.

Employers should appreciate the efforts of applicants. If a company has no vacancy, then why mock job seekers by advertising non-existent jobs? The government must investigate such adverts. I think there’s a serious cancer in our job industry that must be treated. Educated people do not deserve it.

Either way, a solution to unemployment must be found.
