RUSIZI - Catholic Church employees from all ten dioceses in Rwanda, yesterday, ended a two-day retreat in Rusizi District, where they made over 4,000 bricks for the construction of classrooms.

The annual retreat was held in Mibirizi Parish, Cyangugu Diocese. Isidon Nkezabahizi, the representative of the group’s national forum, said the retreat was aimed at sharing spiritual and other constructive ideas. "We share developmental ideas and discuss our spiritual way forward,” said Nkezabahizi.

One of the facilitators of the retreat said they learnt about the operations of cooperatives and associations, which will help members join them with informed decisions in their respective home districts.

The Arch-Deacon of Mubuga Parish, Felicien Harindintwari, used the closing ceremony to call upon the youth to work hard towards self and the country’s development.

"The life that we have is a gift from God; we have to keep it well through hard work for a better living. In healthy living, there is also need to care for our neighbours and the country,” said Harindintwari.

The retreat was attended by over 126 participants from all the ten dioceses of Rwanda.
