APR head coach, Ben Moussa has rallied his players to stay focused as the race for the Rwanda Premier League title reaches a crucial stage.

The table leaders visit Sunrise at Nyagatare Stadium on Friday, February 3, hoping to win the game to remain at the summit of the table.

The 20-time champions are having a good run so far in the league campaign after their 2-1 victory over Kiyovu last weekend saw them overtake AS Kigali to go top of the table with 34 points and Moussa wants his men to keep their winning mentality ahead of their trip to Sunrise.

"The season is reaching a stage where teams are fighting hard to claim the top place in the league, so we have to remain on our toes and make sure we don’t commit too many mistakes,” Moussa said.

"We have to win the game against Sunrise so that we can keep on moving as we are chasing the title and hope they lose along the way although it is difficult,” he added

Since Moussa inherited the club, APR has bounced back from their torrid start to the season and the tactician has made sure that the military side gets back to the title race by bringing a once ‘torn apart’ dressing room back to order and building a winning mentality among his young squad.

APR lead the table with 34 points, followed by AS Kigali with 33 points followed by Gasogi United and Rayon third and fourth place respectively with 32 points apiece while Kiyovu complete the top five with 31 points.

Relegation candidates Espoir and Marines sit 15th and 16th with 10 and seven points respectively.
