Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom, it died.
So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults and failures. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.
We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential.
Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns of another, and find the rose within them.
When we make mistakes or feel we have failed, always remember that within you there is a rose.
Learn from your mistakes and from your failures, and move forward. Life is short to lament about…you got a life! Enjoy it…in a good manner.
This powerful story of the rose helps me in my daily life, knowing that I possess very precious treasures in me; I have ability that I don’t even know about.
Now, who said you can’t? Every beautiful feature we see or hear and it amazes us was done by people…not angels!! Like the Eiffel tower, the skyscrapers, all the discoveries etc. Why not you!!? Who said you can’t??
Now, let’s do this, not only for ourselves but also for our country, looking beyond our differences but looking on what links us together… "We are Rwandans, we are Africans” we ought to be doing our activities looking at the benefit of the next person and the country at large.
Young people are a hope for a nation.
If you want to see whether a country has vision and focus, first verify the lives of its youth. In kinyarwanda there is a proverb that says "umwana apfa mwiterura” and "igiti kigororwa kikiri gito” these are proverbs pointing out on how a generation lacking foundation, especially in the youth is as good as dead.
