KIGALI - Three thousand three hundred people have been recruited into the Rwanda National Police (RNP), and have been advised to exhibit high integrity and good morals that suits the image of the police.

A Police statement sent to The New Times, on Friday, says the new recruits include "basic trainees” who have already reported at the Police Training School (PTS Gishali) and about 500 cadet trainees who will join the National Police Academy in Musanze, this weekend.  

This is the RNP’s fifth and seventh in-take for cadets and basic trainees, respectively

"First class training is the best welfare you can give to an officer because the training process moulds the thinking of officers and leads to quality performance, "said Commissioner General of Police, Emmanuel Gasana. The police boss added that the kind of training is continuous, in nature.

"Our continuous training programmes are a process of enhancing the skills, capabilities and knowledge of Police officers to equip them with the necessary basic tools to perform policing duties,” Police Spokesperson, Superintendent Eric Kayiranga said.
