BCR let me down

Editor, As I write, I wish to refer to a letter that appeared on your pages where one Gilbert was expressing his disappointment in the Commercial Bank of Rwanda (BCR). I opened an account in BCR two years ago when I eagerly returned to Rwanda. In fact, the account wasn’t one but three. Imagine how much money I carried with me to do that.

Editor,

As I write, I wish to refer to a letter that appeared on your pages where one Gilbert was expressing his disappointment in the Commercial Bank of Rwanda (BCR).
I opened an account in BCR two years ago when I eagerly returned to Rwanda. In fact, the account wasn’t one but three. Imagine how much money I carried with me to do that.

When I returned to the UK, the bank kept writing to me ,sending me the financial statements and this went on for about six to seven months, and then one day, it, without warning, stopped completely.

The statements could only show me how much the bank deducts from my account, as they told me, "the charges are for running your account”.

I don’t know how much I have in that bank now, I am not up-dated about anything, and, as I write this letter, it has been over a year now. All my savings are with the bank and yet I do not know who to ask or the status of the account. This is in breach of the agreement I signed with the bank when I opened the account with them.

I am hoping that, with this letter, BCR can change the way it does its business.
