RWANDA lost four of their seven games yesterday to drop to third place in the 12th East Africa Golf Challenge which winds up today at Kigali Golf Club.

In yesterday’s four-ball better ball and foursomes, the hosts managed two points thanks to Joseph Semwaga and Francois Habimana who beat the Mollel brothers Nuru and Jimmy of Tanzania and Leonard Nkurunziza and Patrick Mukiza who edged Gael Ntore and Ibrahim Ndayishimiye of Burundi.

The hosts however lost four crucial points; two against Kenya, one against defending champions Uganda and one against Tanzania.

Africa champions Kenya picked up seven points to go joint-top with Uganda. Tanzania managed three points to move to five while Burundi failed to add onto their day one score of 1.5.

The event winds up today with the singles’ category.
