Aaron Rimbui, the band leader, also expressed concern that the contestants were still joking around with the competition yet this was their fifth week in the Academy.
RKay mused that maybe the contestants had had a too exciting ‘Week’ last week with all the visits from Kenyan Genge kings, P-Unit, Reggae dancehall songstress Alaine and Swedish based Kenyan rapper, STL and even the karaoke night out where the contestants visited a local night club.
Steve reiterated this point as well but more importantly all the contestants have learned to cope with pressure from all angles and maintain their focus on their music.
Rkay reminded them that they were still in a competition and needed to prove themselves, in order to remain in the game.
The Faculty came down heavily on the contestants after their less than stellar performances at the weekend.
As Kavutha reviewed the show with the stars in the making, she pointed out that most seemed to have problems with their breathing during their performances. She also urged them not to over practice either, as they looked tense during the live show and this may have affected their performances.
Msechu pointed out that Gaelle usually gets extremely nervous before her performance such that she may end up experiencing difficulties with the show.
This week, the contestants will be trying their hand at songs by African music icons such as: Tshala Mwana, Mbilia Bel, Franco and Angelique Kidjo.
