The President of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) in Gasabo District, Alphonse Bazatoha, has urged party members to actively participate in the electoral process of its grassroot leadership which are scheduled for early 2011.

He made the call during the party’s meeting that was held in Gasabo District on Saturday, which included the Executive Committee of PSD in the district as well as party leaders from the 15 administrative sectors of the party.
In a statement issued by the party yesterday, it was noted that: "Members of PSD would submit to the Gasabo committee the delegates’ list no later than November 14, pursuant to article 21 of the Statute of PSD.”

The elections for grassroots leaders are slated to take place countrywide early next year.

During the meeting, members commended their party’s involvement in the past presidential elections, and called it a positive step taken by the country in terms of democracy.
