SITBALL teams have entirely switched their focus to next week’s World Sitball championship after receiving a financial boost from the Ministry of Sports and Culture (Minispoc).
The Sports ministry has bailed out the team with Rwf1.7m, exactly what they were lobbying for to help them compete favourably in the event which will run from November 9 to 15 in Uganda.
The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) vice president in charge of development and technique Elie Manirarora has now challenged the players to go on and justify the support.
"We are grateful to the ministry for their support and I now call upon the teams to make Rwanda pride in this competition,” he said.
Rwanda, who are making a debut in the championship, will be represented by Intwari and HVP Gatagara in the men’s category and Kigali Stars in the female section.
Other teams in contention include Germany, Switzerland, Burundi, Kenya, DRC and hosts Uganda.
