EAC must be seen working in Kenya

Dear Editor,

I was recently going through the proceedings of the post election violence in Kenya and I could not help to put blame on the leadership of the EAC for not acting the way they should.

Yes, in a sense that this has now taken a number of weeks and maybe there is nothing concrete that it has been done or it what has in pipeline.

I also thought of other options like different parties in Kenya using constitutional means that are in place to resolve their grievances. Very obviously today, looking back at the last few weeks, we are witnessing more killings.

However, EAC ministers met and discussed this problem which created an impression that things would be fine. But it is absurd that things are getting worse. Let us give time EAC leaders chance to reveal efforts that are underway. We are running out of patience.
