Who is to blame for Kenya’s ethnic atrocities?

Dear Editor,

Following Kenya’s disputed elections last year, I still think it was not necessary Kenyans to react the way they did, especially after the homicide of another MP yesterday.

However, it’s hard for me to pass a judgment on Kenya’s issues because I am not very conversant with especially details regarding the history of their politics.

But what I can confidently say is that we see and we tend to imagine that probably things are even worse than they are captured by world media.

Considering the reported numbers of people being killed, it is rather evident that Kenya is in dire need of peace and reconciliation within the different ethnic groups.

Despite the efforts of calming the situation by different people from different parts of the world, the situation seems to be getting worse and things are not getting any better.

Therefore, I suggest that special attention be given to the underlying ethnic tensions in order to bring the killings to an end.
