KIGALI - The World Bank Vice President for the Africa Region Obiageli Ezekwesili has labeled Rwanda as an African model in having concrete policies regarding investment.
Addressing the press at Kigali Memorial Centre after touring the memorial, Ezekwesili mentioned that the country’s potential lies in its people and Rwanda has justified that it can rise from the ashes.
"This is a nation that led itself out of horror and it did through the efforts of its citizens,” she said.
She added that; "Rwanda is an incredible experience of the amazing capacity of mankind. So, as partners to Rwanda, we look at the efforts of Rwanda, and what we want is to support them and see that they work hard to ensure that a situation like this doesn’t ever happen again.”
Ezekwesili also pointed out that Rwanda still has the potential to perform better, pointing out that the country just needs to consolidate its achievement.
"Rwanda needs to do more of what it has done to succeed. Rwanda has over the last seven years, vigorously embarked on important economic building blocks to enable them grow and as a result we have seen economic ability in this nation and this is because of sound economic policies,” she said.
