Tigo Rwanda has introduced a new promotion dubbed, ‘We did it Again’ for Tigo subscribers calling other Tigo subscribers as a response to market demand.

The company’s officials at the Muhima based company said, with the new promotion Tigo to Tigo calls would cost subscribers only Rwf5 for every minute. It also means the ‘100 percent Bonus, Kabisa’ promotion came to an end paving way for the new one launched early this week.

‘We did it again!’ That is our new promotion because we always give our clients something exciting. Now we are also responding to the market and giving the subscribers an affordable option as we approach the festive season,” Nina Ndabaneze, the Marketing Manager, said.

Company officials also said it is Tigo’s policy to run a series of promotions as a way of giving a variety to its clients and that the promotions run according to the market demands.
The company recently consolidated the second most subscribed position since surpassing Rwandatel in the second quarter of this year with slightly over 600,000 subscribers as the country registered a 14 percent growth in mobile telephony.

RURA attributed the growth to lower tariffs introduced amidst stiff competition and various promotions resulting from increasing competition.

MTN is currently running a new festive promotion where the company offers a 70 percent discount on MTN to MTN calls. Meanwhile, Rwandatel is still running its Rwf3 per minute promotion.
