Party starters Halloween fans pull out a strike with their masks.

Organisers of the first ever Halloween Party held in the country and the Halloween fans alike, cursed the night of Oct 30, after security personnal raided the venue and ordered for the immediate closure of the event.

"This was malice; someone must have been behind all this. We’re so disappointed after investing a lot of money and efforts to make the Halloween Party successful!”

This is what Dan Odhiambo, an official from Sleek Communication which organised the party told The New Times in an interview. It’s not the first time Police have stopped big-time bashes and concerts taking place around the city.

In other words, some of us had seen it coming and it was just a matter of time.

However, such upsetting scenarios can be avoided if event organisers respect the regulations and involve Police in their preparations.

Varotio Andrea, an Italian artist said: "This is a shock to my life! A police came straight to the stage and ordered us to stop the music…”

"We can’t blame security personnal because it’s their duty to protect people; besides, the noise must have been irritating the residents,” Jackson Kalisa, one of the people at the party said.

The ruined party was held at the Grand Scenario Hotel in Nyarutarama. It started at 7pm and was expected to rock until 5am.

Outfitted to run the show were Kenya’s Threez a Crowd, DJs Gordo and Collo, but unfortunately, they were unable to perform.

Entrance was Rwf5,000, with a complimentary drink of Turbo King, and Rwf10,000 inclusive of dinner and a drink.
There were also lots of prizes to grab throughout the night, including return air tickets to Dubai and Mombasa, courtesy of Rwandair, but the party closed before the ruffles began.
