The Minister of Defence of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Charles Mwando Nsimba, was due to arrive in the country today morning for a two-day meeting with his Rwandan counterpart, Gen. James Kabarebe.
The Minister of Defence of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Charles Mwando Nsimba, was due to arrive in the country today morning for a two-day meeting with his Rwandan counterpart, Gen. James Kabarebe.
He was due to be received at Kigali International Airport by Rwanda’s Defence Minister Gen. James Kabarebe and top military officials.
Lt. Col. Jill Rutaremara, the Defence and Army Spokesperson, told The New Times that "this is a follow-up to the previous meetings” by the two ministers and the two countries’ army chiefs.
The meeting will also be attended by the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Charles Kayonga and the Chief of General Staff of the DRC army [FARDC], Lt. Gen. Didier Etumba.
Several other top army officers from the two countries will also attend the meeting scheduled to be held at Prime Holdings.
The Congolese Minister is accompanied by 14 senior military and civilian officers.
