EAC should think about common border standards as well

Dear Editor,
The idea of a common currency to all the EAC countries is a brilliant idea. The National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) together with all the other EAC member countries believe that this can be achieved by 2012.
This new strategy if achieved will bring about flexibility in money transfers and help to strengthening the unity of the EAC globe.
However, great caution should be taken before implementing this policy because the currency might end up losing value if haphazard plans are followed.
I request that the East African countries first put in mind easing movement at borders between the EAC countries. The hard regulations and bureaucracy at the border make it seem like the EAC has out lived its usefulness.
