I am student at King’s College London and Sorbonne University where I’m studying War studies and Philosophy. Yesterday I read Shem Mugisha’s article ‘who pays the bills’ in his Women Today column ‘True Man’ in The New Times and I strongly disagree!

I have taken time to respond to his article because you asked a very good question about who should pay the bills but your answer that either woman or man can pay the bill depending on their situation could make Rwandans especially the males worse than they are today when it comes to paying bills when out on a date.
