RAYON will receive their first major test of the 2010/2011 Primus league when they take on a pumped up Police side this afternoon at Nyamirambo’s Regional stadium.

Both sides have enjoyed good starts after winning their first two games so today’s game is a test of character and consistency.

On paper, Rayon, who have won six league titles, march into the game as genuine favourites although Police have last year’s head to head performance to bank on.
In the first round, Police beat Rayon 3-0 at home before holding the 2004 champions to a 2-all away draw.

Just like Rayon who secured identical 1-0 victories over Muhanga and Marines, Police have not dropped any points after beating Muhanga 2-1 and grinding out a hard fought 1-0 win over Amagaju.

Under new coach Emmanuel Ruremesha, the Blues seem to be building up a formidable side.
"It is a big game for us and we expect a tough challenge from Police because they are in great shape after winning their first two games,” Ruremesha conceded.

In Huye, Mukura are looking to kick-start their campaign when they host Etincelles. The Southern Province side is still struggling to rebuild after a very disappointing 2009/2010 season.

Elsewhere, Amagaju are away to Musanze, Marines hosts table leaders AS Kigali at Tam Tam grounds while newly promoted La Jeunesse host Muhanga at Mumena.

But the highlight of the weekend is Sunday’s clash between reigning champions APR and SC Kiyovu at Amahoro stadium.
While the eleven-time champions head into the tie on the back of identical 1-0 victories over Mukura and Amagaju, Kiyovu find themselves in the lower half of the league table after managing just a point from a possible six.

The old giants opened their campaign with a shocking 0-1 defeat against AS Kigali before being held to a 1-all draw by newly promoted La Jeunesse on Monday.
