AMAVUBI head coach Sellas Tetteh will nominate Asamoah Gyan and Jose Mourinho for the Ballon d’Or /FIFA World Player and Manager of the Year awards.
Tetteh told Times Sport that he does not have to think twice about who to vote for because to him, Ghana and Sunderland’s striker Gyan is top class.
"At the 2010 World Cup, he was simply outstanding. He single-handedly carried the whole nation through to the quarter-finals,” Tetteh said.
The Ghanaian tactician also made it no secret that Real Madrid and former Inter-Milan coach Jose Mourinho was his number one choice for manager of the year.
"Mourinho deserves the accolade. He did what most managers dream of; winning a treble.”
"He has not there. He has also transformed Real Madrid.”
Early this week, Fifa released a short-list of 23 players in contention for the Ballon d’Or including reigning European and world player of the year Lionel Messi, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and the African pair of Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto among others.
Mourinho’s major contenders for manager of the year include Man United’s Alex Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea), Vicente Del Bosque (Spain) and Pep Guardiola (Barcelona).
The winners will be revealed in Zurich on January 10.
