Editor,

I recently read in your paper that over 44 million trees will be planted countrywide during the tree planting week that will be launched in Karongi District on November 8.

This kind of effort and unity to ensure that the Rwandan environment is kept green is encouraging. What impressed me most is that nursery beds of at least 10,000 trees were prepared by every Cell in the country! That also 2,500 hectares of bamboo forests will be planted by 2020 is even more impressive.

With environmental protection comes the wellbeing of citizens because they can now generate income from conserving their environment and also have a clean health bill due to a less polluted environment.

This kind of unity to achieve a common goal I guess is what is needed to see Rwanda become a prosperous nation in Africa. Keep up the good work.
