Like any other guy, who has come of age, you have strong feelings for this beauty and from the way you feel, it surely must be love. The problem, however, is you are not so sure she feels the same way about you.

But like the courageous guy you are, you set out to chase her. Granted: sometimes girls do play hard to get but still, there are times when they mean that ‘NO’. So at what point should you quit the chase and surrender? Here are some signs that she just not into you.

She doesn’t laugh at your jokes

You are so convinced that you are the epitome of humour. In fact, had it not been for the fact that you were in school; you would have certainly beaten the likes of Atom, Kanyonbya and Nyagahene to become Rwanda’s best stand up comedian. But for reasons best known to her, that missy you feel never laughs at any of your jokes even if they leave everyone else in stitches.

This could show her lack of interest in you. Sometimes, you even laugh before she laughs hoping that you her realize that it’s a joke. This could show that she is not into you.

Refuses to give you her phone number

You ask her for her phone number and she says, "I can’t give you my number but you could give me yours.” Or, "Don’t call me, I will call you”. Yes, some girls love to show they are "miss independent” and prefer to incur the costs, but more often, this shows she not into you. Open your eyes and give yourself a break.

Doesn’t take appointments with you seriously

After a lot of convincing, she accepts, albeit hesitantly, to meet up with you at Steers. But after 40 minutes of painful waiting, you call to inquire what could be holding her up and she says, "Bambi sorry, a friend just gave me the recent season of Grey’s Anatomy. Can’t we make it some other day?” Surely, the saying: "Patience pays”, won’t apply here, will it?

Doesn’t talk to you

When you finally meet up, the conversation turns out to be a monologue, with you doing the talking and all she says is, "umm….umm ... sorry? umm… really?” Even the reserved type can talk; she should at least ask questions related to your speech. Or she suddenly laughs at the end of your conversation and when you ask her what, among the things, you have said is funny, she says, "the last one” or worse still, "nothing really, just recalled something funny someone did.” For God’s sake, the babe is day- dreaming when you are talking to her and you are still hanging on? You’re kidding?

Bringing third parties into the picture

She never meets you without an escort. You see, some girls are so merciful that instead of breaking you completely, they try to make you pick interest in the third party instead. If you realize that this is the case, just know you are flogging a dead horse. So cast your nets in deeper waters.

Seems more interested in your money

As much as the breed of girls is fading away, some are still stuck to that shameful ‘de-toothing’ business. One thing about opportunists is that they are good pretenders, so how will you tell that she is one? First, whenever she is with you, all she ever talks about are her financial problems. When you want to take her out, she will suggest an extremely posh place and failure to take her there, she sulks. She always asks for airtime from you and yet you never get any calls from her. Boy, such a girl is deadly. Run for dear life!

Never introduces you to her friends

A girl who is interested in a guy will always want to be seen in his company. She will strive to introduce you to her friends even before you suggest it. So, if yours doesn’t want to be seen with you in public and comes up with a catalogue of excuses to avoid it, parting ways may not really be a bad idea.

So guys, there you go. Do not say Innocent never told us! One person said that learn to love those who love you! There is no Miss Right since you can never find a girl with all the features you want. Otherwise what I’m trying to say is that, play your cards well, if it’s meant to be, so it will be but if it’s not then, just move on.
