Alyn Sano is one of Rwanda’s best female recording artists whose music continues to break boundaries, making regular presence on radio and TV show’s playlists across Kigali, in the region and overseas.
She is regarded by many as the queen of live music without which music would mean nothing to her.
Sano shares with The New Times that her perfect weekend is normally dominated by studio sessions and performances with little to no time to hang out which most of us think is an unmissable part of the weekend to call it a perfect one.
"I dedicate most of my weekend time in the studio, performance and sleeping. I like to sleep!
I start my weekend in studio. Actually Friday evening is studio time. I can spend the entire night in a recording studio depending on the music project that I am working on.
I don’t care whether I leave in the morning because I spare enough time to sleep on Saturday which is of course my time to rest.
On Saturday, I only leave home when I have a performance at weddings. Other than that, it is bed and movie time.
My weekend is as boring as that. Don’t ask me about partying, clubbing and hang out plots and anything that has to do with going out for fun because I am not the kind of person who goes out that much unless I have appointments with friends.
Of course I make time for my friends...I don’t have so many friends. The few friends that I have are barely familiar with going out to have fun.
I don’t go out so often because I have so many goals to achieve. But, starting July, I have to start going out and have fun.
On Sundays, I have private performances between 11am to 4pm and, afterwards, I come back home to prepare for Monday.
