Tunisia 69-58 Mali

Tunisia yesterday stormed the Afro-Basketball/Kagame Cup U-18 championship final after defeating Mali 69-58 at Amahoro indoor stadium court.

Tunisia, who defeated Rwanda 86-47 in the quarter-finals a day before, did not look threatened at all by the overall physical Malians after dominating all four quarters.

By Press time defending champions Egypt were having a lead over Mozambique in the first quarter in the day’s second semi-final to determine who meets Tunisia in today’s final.

The 9-day tournament that attracted nine countries, winds up this evening after which the top two teams will represent Africa at the World U-18 championship in Latvia next year.
