As Primus National Football League returns

The 2010/11 Primus National Football league kicks off  this afternoon with action involving all 12 teams at different grounds across the country.

Champions APR will begin their title defence against Mukura at Mumena stadium in Nyamirambo.

The military side has so far signed three players including Joseph Bwalya, who is returning for a second spell, Amavubi striker Kipson Atuhaire and Ugandan international Joseph Bagoole.

The trio will join new Dutch coach Ernie Bandts, who replaced his compatriot Erik Paske. Kiyovu, coached by former APR coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira is tipped by many to be the army side’s closest challenger for the title. It’s no wonder that Ntagwabira is optimistic that his club has the capacity to deny his former club its 12th league title.

The Nyamirambo-based side open their campaign against crossroad rivals AS Kigali at the Regional stadium.
