The Executive Secretary of Gasabo District, Willy Mutabazi, has been arrested, allegedly on accusations of adultery, after having been caught in bed with another man’s wife.

Speaking to The New Times in an interview the Mayor of Gasabo District, Willy Ndizeye confirmed the arrest saying that Mutabazi was apprehended last Friday at the district offices.

"To the best of my knowledge what I know about this over Mutabazi’s case is that Police summoned him last week after a certain man filed a case against him to the Police accusing him that he caught the latter with his wife recently,” the mayor said.

"But this issue has to be followed by the district management because it’s not an administrative problem” Ndizeye added.

When contacted yesterday, Augustin Nkusi, the Prosecution Spokesperson confirmed the development.
"He was indeed arrested and is expected to appear before court not later than Friday this week,” said Nkusi, adding that the official will be charged with adultery.

According to the mayor, the accused, despite the adultery case, has been a hard working employee at the district, saying that he had never been accused of in any scandal at the district.
