As competition among commercial banks continues to grow, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Rwanda is set to rollout its Mobile Banking technology months after the service was initiated by BANQUE Populaire du Rwanda (BPR).
As competition among commercial banks continues to grow, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Rwanda is set to rollout its Mobile Banking technology months after the service was initiated by BANQUE Populaire du Rwanda (BPR).
The service allows the user to log into client’s account from a cell phone, and then use the phone to make payments, check balances, and transfer money between accounts.
KCB Rwanda’s Managing Director, Maurice K. Toroitich said that preparations to rollout the service are underway and by the end of the year the bank will be having something.
"We are integrating with all telecom operators; the piloting process is in progress and we believe the product will free our customers by providing them with the ability to access information on their balances from any convenient location at any time of the day,” Toroitich said.
Toroitich revealed this at Life Nursery School during a donating week which started on Saturday, the bank donated text books and other school materials.
During the week, the bank donates Computers, Text Books, school desks, Medical Insurance Uniforms and other materials.
He also revealed that the bank in focusing much Mortgage product in the next two to three years to help their clients acquire homes.
"We are focusing much in branch network expansion, at least one branch each year, internet banking, adding that they want to improve on want the bank has at the moment. Currently, the bank has 9 branches across the country.
