Rwanda is among the world countries that have confirmed they will attend the Fifth International Conference on Agricultural Statistics (ICAS-V) which is slated to take place from October 13 –15.

According to the Executive Director of Uganda Bureau of Statistics, Male Mukasa, who is the conference organizer,  the head of Rwanda’s National Institute of Statistics has officially confirmed attendance.

"I have got an email from the head of National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda confirming that he is coming to participate "he said.

He further noted that the conference will help east African participants engage experienced international delegates to share information concerning agricultural statistics.

"Rwanda, like Uganda and other members of east African countries, will have a chance to discuss the importance of good quality agricultural statistics; and will help the participants to pick something on basic practices in production and use of agricultural statistics”.

The three days conference has attracted all producers, suppliers, trainers and users of agricultural statistics, such as economists, statisticians, researchers, analysts and decision-makers from government entities, the academia, development partners and international organizations from all continents.
