I feel as if Africa is seeing a passing of the torch, from the old freedom fighters to the younger generation of leaders.

And nothing exposes this fundamental shift than the retirement of the former Archbishop of Cape Town, Desmond Tutu.

I will surely miss his courage and infectious laugh. Who didn’t smile at his presentation at the opening of the FIFA World Cup? A character like his comes every once in a generation. I wish him all the best.
