The fourth season of the Tusker Project Fame (TPF) is heating up as contestants from the region compete for the East African music superstar title.

The top 25 audition show on Saturday October 9 will identify the final 18 contestants from five countries: Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Southern Sudan to take part in the TPF finals held in Nairobi, Kenya.

This year’s auditions in Rwanda saw many participants exhibit a lot of skills, strength, courage and determination in the hope of qualifying for the final auditions.
It was time for heartbeats to pound when the three judges, headed by famous reggae star Natty Dread, along with Dickson, a presenter on Contact FM and Shanel, a singer and actress arrived at Manor Hotel, well focused to choose only talent.During the competition, the judges had to witness comedians and other performers who got them roaring with laughter.

Contestants presented different varieties of music and judges were tasked with selecting from a very wide range of talent in reggae, R&B and Rap, to mention but a few.
Judge Dickson, who seemed tougher than the rest, was overheard telling contestants words like: "Thank you but goodbye”…"Try again next year”…"You’re a good performer, not singer”.

Many participants left disappointed and defiant, uttering, for example, "this isn’t the end of life”.

For Rwandans, October 11 2009 will always be remembered. It was the day when 23-year-old Alpha Rwirangira emerged the first Rwandan and first male contestant to win the competition since its inception in 2007.
