UN Rwanda has organised the first ever art competition in preparations for the United Nation’s Day celebrations.
The competition is open to any talented local craft artist, who would like to produce a piece of art depicting the vision of Rwanda’s future.

Entries must be submitted in the artist’s name, not in the name of a company. Applicants will produce a work of oil, watercolour, charcoal, or any medium they prefer to depict one of the following themes: Education, good governance, population and growth, health, nutrition; HIV/AIDS, sustainable growth and social protection.

The images submitted are understood to be the property of the artist. The competition will be based on: Visual appeal, overall impact, adherence to competition rules and use of medium.

All entries meeting the minimum criteria as outlined above will receive a prize. The top three entries will be awarded with a plaque and a special prize.

The UN will keep all works of art and display them in different offices throughout the country. Participants will deliver their entries with their name and chosen theme to the address below and the deadline for submissions is October 15, 2010.

The festival will be held on October 24, 2010, at Serena Hotel, Kigali.
