YOU’RE STILL A PART OF ME

Your choices in life are so different,
From what I would have chosen for you,
I dreamed so many dreams for you then,
Before you were born I wanted your life to be perfect,
And I guess I forgot whose life and future I was,
I guess I forgot they were my dreams not yours,
You have learned so many things the hard way,
But I guess that’s the only way to learn.

I want you to know that even though this,
You have chosen your own path to follow,
I will always be there to love and support you,
I know I won’t always agree with you in life,
But l also know that I love to let you figure out,
Things for yourself it’s hard to let go,
You’re my child no matter how hard you are to me,
And it’s hard for me to let you make mistakes,
But I know you are a strong and able person,
And in the end you will be successful,
Because even though you are on your own,
You will still be a part of me my love,
 You’re my rainbow on a cloudy day.
