As RRA win maiden league title

Rwanda Revenue Authority coach Jean Luc Ndayikengurukiye has paid glowing tribute to his players for winning their first volleyball league title after a comprehensive win over third placed National University of Rwanda (NUR) over the weekend.

RRA did not lose a single match this season and their imperious form was on display after a 25-14, 25-16, 25-12 win over the varsity side that was determined to delay the tax- collectors’ party.

Ndayikengurukiye, who won two league titles with APR (men) volleyball club before being controversially sacked, told Times Sport that his players deserved special praise for keeping APR at bay.

"They had good mental strength and it is very commendable that they did not lose focus in the title race,” the former APR and National team captain noted.
"Our main focus now is to sweep the Rutsindura and Carre d’AS events.”

RRA will be officially crowned champions on Saturday after playing their final match of the campaign.
In the men’s fray, APR will lift a fourth successive league title if they beat Unatek on Saturday.

The military side has a two point cushion over NUR.
