AMAVUBI Stars are likely to host Trinidad & Tobago in an international friendly later this year, Times Sport has established.

The teams head coach Sellas Tetteh has expressed interest in playing against the Caribbean side, which is scheduled to play an international friendly with Uganda Cranes on November 17.

Trinidad & Tobago play Uganda Cranes on November 17 so we are working out a way of bringing them over for a friendly game, Tetteh said.

We are looking at November 23 and the game being played at Amahoro Stadium if all goes well.

Trinidad & Tobago, with a Fifa ranking of 76, holds the record of being the smallest nation (both in size and population) to ever qualify for the World Cup.

In 2006, it reached the first round of the global show piece.
Rwanda is also looking at Zambia and Haiti as other options. According to Tetteh, Amavubi will use the match on November 23 to prepare for the Cecafa Challenge Cup slated for December in Tanzania, the Africa Nations Championships (2011 CHAN) set for February in Sudan as well as the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers which resume in March after next months Benin qualifier.

Tetteh, who is fully focused on Amavubis next assignment, has no doubt that a win over Benin will without doubt revive Rwandas hopes of qualifying for the 2012 Africa Nations Cup which will be jointly held in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Rwanda, drawn in Group H, got their qualification campaign off to a wobbly start following a 3-0 defeat in Abidjan against African giants Ivory Coast and desperately need a good result against Benins squirrels. The tie which is slated for October 9 will be played at Amahoro Stadium.

Ivory Coast top the group with three points, Burundi and Benin are second with a point each while Amavubi languish at the bottom with zero points.

Rwanda is seeking a second appearance at Africas premier football tournament following their debut in 2004.
